In recent years France has worked hard to change its perception as a country that opposes a truly liberal business culture, and with much success. Businesses now enjoy greater freedom to grant employees overtime as well as greater flexibility in the labour market. Since 2007, the French government has introduced significant tax incentives with the intention of stimulating competition in France and facilitating enterprise. This change is reflected in the increased amount of foreign investment, which France has experienced over the last few years.
